If you travel on a regular basis for business, you most likely have your own techniques when it comes to getting the best deals, packing the right clothes and getting through airport security quickly and easily. Still, there are some little-known tips and tricks that may come in handy when you travel for business, whether you’re traveling domestically or abroad. Here are five of the best little-known travel tips for business traveling.

1. Get up and move on long trips.

It’s commonly known as “Economy Class Syndrome”, but it happens to travelers in business and first class as well. Its technical name is deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot that develops in the legs and can travel to the lungs or the brain. Doctors believe that a combination of conditions contribute to the syndrome, including sitting in cramped conditions for 10 or more hours, low cabin pressure, low humidity and dehydration. You are especially at risk if you smoke, have high blood pressure, or have a history of cardiovascular problems.

Get up and walk up and down the aisle at least every two hours, and be sure to remain hydrated. Remember, coffee, tea and alcoholic beverages actually contribute to dehydration. Drink water and fruit juices instead. The best way to give you an extra advantage is to book an aisle seat with extra leg room.

2. Keep your eye on airline fees.

Save your company a bit of extra money by being aware of hidden airline fees. Shop around for the best rates and package deals if you need to rent a car or are traveling to multiple destinations. While boarding an airplane, keep your bags below 50 pounds.

3. Take full advantage of what your hotel offers.

When you are away from home you do not have your usual connections, your hotel can help you. Perhaps you need a printer at 2 am, or reservations for a business dinner at an appropriate restaurants. At home, you would know exactly where to go, but when you are traveling, you need answers from a reliable source. A business class hotel can provide these answers and more.

Most business travelers know whether their hotel offers high spend internet and wifi connections, but hotels that deal with business travelers often take those services to a far higher level. The front desk clerk or concierge will often go above and beyond to be sure that you have everything you need for your stay, from a replacing a cell phone charger to arranging pickup and delivery of important papers.

4. Make the most of layovers.

Your best case scenario may not include any layovers, but that’s not always possible. If you find yourself in a foreign airport with time to kill, make the most of it. Many airports around the world feature special lounges and amenities for frequent and business class flyers. You can take advantage of a hot shower, a massage or a nap; plug in to recharge your laptop and cell phone batteries; put your feet up in a massage recliner. Working out may not be an option, but a brisk walk between terminals can serve the same purpose – and get your blood flowing and your brain working again.

Not traveling business or first class? Many airports offer “pay per visit” access to the business/first class lounge that will still allow you access to all the amenities offered to business and first class travelers.

5. Pack smart for safety and comfort.

Spend as much time thinking about your safety as you do about packing the right tie or blouse. Keep a “go bag” ready to go with your current prescriptions, over the counter medications that you use frequently, your health insurance information and an abbreviated medical history. Pack your own amenities kit for the plane trip, too. Bring travel socks, eye shades, an inflatable pillow and mints, as well as travel size moisturizer, toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash.

Five Additional Quick Business Travel Tips:

1. If you travel to the same city frequently or for extended periods, look into corporate housing instead of hotel stays. The savings could add up in just a few trips.

2. When using a pay phone at the airport, avoid isolated or poorly lighted locations, and face outward while you’re on the phone.

3. Check to see if your credit card or personal insurance covers you while driving a rented car and save the expense of rental insurance.

4. Ask at airport check-in if there are exit row or bulkhead seats available. They’re usually the last ones assigned and there’s a good chance you’ll get a better seat without the cost of requesting a specific seat.

5. Be sure to keep a photocopy of your passport and ID back at the hotel. It will make things immensely easier in case of loss or theft.

Warnings and precautions before taking Activella and femhrt

Estrogen replacement therapy typically doubles the chances of gallbladder disease. Notify your doctor if you experience pain, tenderness, or swelling in your abdomen.

*You should tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to any brand of oral estrogen, any other estrogen products, any other medications, or any of the ingredients in estrogen tablets.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Activella and femhrt with certain other drugs, then it may be increased, decreased, or altered the effects of medicine. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Activella and femhrt with the following:

In the previous part of this article I covered what steps you can take to ensure your long haul flight to Australia is a stress-free and comfortable experience. As I mentioned, I am shortly going to be planning a holiday to visit family in Sydney and so I’ve got a lot of planning and preparing to do, in doing so I’ve come across a bunch of helpful tips to make sure your long haul journey isn’t going to make your trip regrettable, this next part continues with how to spend time whilst on the plane.

Assuming there’s no delays or cancellations I’ll be boarding the plane and in no time I’ll be on the flight heading east, this is probably the worst part of the trip, having to stay seated for the good part of a day, I’m not an overly active person normally but I still appreciate being able to get up and take a stroll outside. This is obviously not an option unless I sprout wings, although there’s a list of smaller exercises you can do whilst sat on a plane in order to keep the circulation going and reducing the risk of a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

As well as this the pressurised cabin is going to really make me uncomfortable due to my contact lenses, the air is really dry in a plane so I think I’ll be taking them out before the flight, the dryness of the air will also mean that you’re left dehydrated. Being dehydrated is the greatest problem on a plane, it is not unknown for people to not realise and end up fainting or passing out. Although drinks like coffee and alcohol are free it isn’t advisable since these drinks are considered as diuretics, meaning you’re going to be up and down going to the toilet all through the flight.

Going to the toilet is obviously an expected occurrence but if you’ve ever had to endure an airplane’s toilet in the past you’ll know they’re not the most pleasant facility in the world, so the less I need to go the better, it is advised that drinking plenty of water prior to flying keeps you hydrated and having some water in a bottle during your flights is a good idea especially since you’ll be on the plane for a long time.

Aside from the in-flight entertainment which always seems to involve an episode of Only Fools and Horses that I’ve seen a thousand times and a film that I probably would have never seen if given the choice there’s not much else on offer. Luckily I’ve got a few options since I plan to bring my PSP and iPod to while away the time, some flights even have electrical outlets in the seat but this tends to be a feature of business or first class travel, so if the flight has sockets then I won’t need to worry about batteries running out. I’ve always got a book which I’ve been meaning to work my way through so I’m a bit spoiled for choice in the entertainment department.

One thing I don’t want to do when I get there is feel like I need to take a nap, by then I should be wide awake and ready to do some sightseeing, especially in Singapore so I don’t think I’ll spend too much time playing music and games and get some shut eye. I’ve heard from some travel tipsters that setting your watch to the local time of where you’re going and sleeping according to that time is a great way to avoid jetlag; this is something I’m going to try out since I don’t want to get into Singapore and end up sleeping whilst my connecting flight takes off.

So if I follow the advice I’ve found out about and do some preparation then hopefully I’ll have a fairly pleasant flight. Contrary to popular belief it’s possible to get cheap flights to Sydney these days and coupled with the fact that I won’t need to pay accommodation this should work out as a pretty thrifty holiday.

Obesity is defined as an excess of body fat that can significantly impair ones health.

If a person is more than 20 percent over their ideal weight they can be considered obese, however, obesity should be determined by considering the person’s height, age, sex, and build.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) also defines obesity as a BMI (body mass index) of 30 or above (A BMI of 30 is about 30 pounds overweight.)

Obesity is a complex health issue, primarily because there are numerous factors that can cause its occurrence. Being overweight is a concern to those in the health industry as well, because of significant contributions to health problems.

Health issues can include risk factors for:

* Heart Disease

* Stroke

* Type 2 diabetes

* Fatty liver disease

* Specific cancers

* Deep vein Thrombosis

* Breathing problems

* Gallbladder disease

* Arthritis

Diet, inactivity, genetic, psychological and physiological issues can all contribute to obesity.

Because of this, the treatment for obesity may be more than a mere matter of dietary changes. Physical activity coupled with counseling and support can supplement a structured diet to help patients conquer weight issues.

Quick loss schemes and extreme diets however, can be counterproductive, as they can actually contribute to increased obesity via the destruction of the metabolic process and yo-yo dieting.

Real world lifestyle changes will bring faster success at conquering obesity than anything else. This will include behavioral therapy as well as traditional counseling. Incorporating healthy eating habits and physical activity into daily routines will help curb the rising tide of obesity too, but we must be realistic and make this change gradual.

There are no quick fixes.

As with anything, education is the key to promoting awareness about various implications of obesity. If health agencies are proactive in making sure the public has all the facts, not only on the frightening emergence of obesity and obesity related illness, but on how to best meet the challenges associated with it, obesity can slowly but surely be eradicated.

Parents and educators also have a responsibility to be good examples and to foster health conscience habits in our children. They can do this by eating right and exercising themselves. Community centers can also lead initiatives for physical activities and organized sports where pre-adolescents, teens and young adults can get involved.

Such leadership can translate into adulthood; the knowledge and education can be further applied and passed on to future generations.

Being over-weight can be an unbearable burden, but for a lot of people knowing how to break the cycle of eating the wrong food is the hard part.

Eating low fat foods isn’t necessary the answer. These foods can be misleadingly labelled and be doing as much harm to your diet as good. How we look strongly influences how we feel and while I’m sure that some people believe that big is beautiful for most of us being overweight is the worst aspect of our lives.

We don’t all long for super model bodies but for many it would be good to be able to get the most out of the body that we were given.

Dieting helps to shift the fat for as long as we make the effort but the joy of reaching our target weight can make us forget the effort involved in reaching it and sooner or later we get complacent and return to our old eating patterns, we are after all creatures of habit.

Unfortunately the backlash of frustration and despair as the weight piles back on can drive us into the dreaded yo-yo cycle until, scoffing and starving in turn we end up weighing more than we did in the outset.

This has led to the fallacy that dieting makes you fat.

It doesn’t, eating more calories than you burn makes you fat. Permanent weight-loss is beyond most people’s reach because of the methods they chose to use for shedding excess weight. Unfortunately as hunger pangs kick in we crave our favourite foods and the temptation is too great.

Add into this equation the low esteem and the secret belief that people have that they will never lose weight as their chosen method of diet doesn’t work and you’re set up for failure from the start.

As already mentioned to lose weight we need to burn more calories than we put into our body, do this and our body will react in the appropriate manner. For many of us the basics of this are cutting down on comfort foods, chocolate, biscuits and cakes and fatty foods and becoming more physically active.

This is a basic starting point but it’s not the total answer. Ask any ex-dieter why they gave up and most of them will tell you that they reached a point where they just were not losing any more weight.

This point is normally reached when the body has gone through a prolonged period where it has taken fewer than the minimum number of calories onboard, this differs from person to person but is somewhere around 1000-1200 for women and 1200-1500 for men.

Fearing imminent starvation and in preparation for it the body hangs onto its reserves of fat and uses the energy that it does derive from food for heat production, digestion and other vital functions as economically as possible.

On average we use 60 per cent of the energy we obtain from food to keep our vital functions ticking over at rest this is called the basal metabolic rate.

The average sedentary person uses a further 20 per cent in physical activity but by becoming more physically active and participating in regular exercise both this and the BMR can be increased in people of normal weight and overweight people for up to 18 hours after exercise.

Dieting may be difficult and to or the reasons highlighted above seem fruitless to some people but that doesn’t mean that you should join the big is beautiful brigade, being over-weight or obese (defined as being 20 per cent over your ideal body weight) is dangerous to your health.

Obesity is lnked to all sorts of medical disorders such as high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, stroke, heart attack, deep vein thrombosis, gall bladder disorder, acid reflux, type 2 diabetes, snoring and sleep pleasant.

So the answer appears to be to make sure you eat the right amount of calories sensibly, don’t starve yourself as you’ll go nowhere fast.

Ensure you eat plenty of foods that stave off hunger pangs and steer away from sugar rush foods which give a high but give your body a low as well.

Fruit and vegetables seem the obvious answer but this may not suit all people. Nuts and raisins are a good source of energy that stave off hunger. Ensure you eat a good breakfast, porridge is a great start to the day as oats are a slow release energy source keeping you fuller for longer.

So don’t give up on that diet, just put a little more thought into it. It could save your life.

What is Body lift surgery?

Body lift surgery is a term that refers to comprehensive plastic surgery procedures that are performed to make a dramatic improvement in the body’s counter as a whole. Body lift surgeries are classified as –

•	Central Body Lift – This procedure is also called Belt lipectomy. In Central Body Lift, excess skin and fatty tissue is removed circumferential from the belly, hips, back, buttocks, and outer thighs.

•	Lower Body Lift – Lower Body Lift is performed to shape buttocks and thighs by removing excess skin and fat from these areas.

Body lift surgery can be combined with other cosmetic & plastic surgery procedures like liposuction, power assisted liposculpture (PAL), tummy tuck, thigh lift, arm lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation, and breast lift. Skin grafting may also be performed in places of the body where needed. The ultrasonic body lift additionally flattens the abdomen and smoothens the back.

Who should consider body lift surgery?

If you have lost large amounts of weight and have loose, hanging skin on your face, breasts, back, belly and thighs you can certainly go for body lift surgery. It can also be undertaken to counter the effects of aging and multiple pregnancies. The skin often stretches to such a degree during weight retention that even when the excess fat is gone, the skin remains in its enormous state. At times the physical discomfort and appearance of this extra skin causes more embarrassment than the initial weight. Persons wishing to remove such skin and tailor their body to a more natural shape are perfect candidates for a body lift surgery.

Benefits of body lift surgery

Body lift is very similar to a science-fiction film where characters vanish. Your fate would be less than that, as only your wrinkles and loose skin will disappear with this surgery. It is a revolutionary surgical procedure that quickly, safely and effectively improves the shape and tone of your body. After having body lift surgery you can get back self confidence and normality in your life. It is a way to get started with the beauty and self esteem that you have always dreamed of.

Risks of body lift surgery

Most body-contouring procedures involve making an incision in the least obvious part of the area to be trimmed, removing excess skin, and suturing the area with fine stitches to minimize scarring. With these types of procedures, scarring is unavoidable. Risks include –

•	Deep vein thrombosis, or blood clot formation in the legs -Pain and or swelling in your feet, calves, or legs, fatigue.

•	Formation of a seroma (a mass or lump caused by fluid buildup in a tissue or organ)

•	Pain, swelling, redness

•	Skin necrosis (tissue death)

•	Bleeding

•	Infection

Cost-benefit of body lift surgery in India

The cost of body lift surgery ranges from $20,000 to $55,000 . This high priced surgery is usually not covered by health insurance, with few exceptions. Therefore many patients take second mortgages on their homes or forgo buying a new car to pay for the operation. Are you one of them ? Just think before proceeding further ! You can have your body lift surgery in India at Delhi and Mumbai without sacrificing your other luxurious needs or borrowing loans. India offers body lift surgery that suits your pocket and medical needs. The state of art of cosmetic surgery hospitals and reputed surgeons in India provide top quality treatment. Medical facilities in India are at par with that in UK, USA or any other part of the world. By having body lift surgery in India you can not only get cost benefit but also take the advantage of medical tourism here. With its scenic beauty and luxurious travel facilities India has emerged as a favourite tourist destination in past few decades. So plan your body lift surgery in India and cut the cost to half.

The use of compression stockings by patients after treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) has been found to prevent post thrombotic syndrome (PTS)? Recent studies published in medical journals and professional web sites such as the “Annals of Internal Medicine”, “American Family Physician”, “American College of Physicians, and the “American College of Phlebology” have shown that compression stockings prevent post thrombotic syndrome in 50% of patients.

Post thrombotic syndrome is a long term complication of DVT that is experienced by 1 out of 3 patients. The symptoms include pain, swelling, cramping, numbness, tingling, and itching of the affected leg. The skin on the lower part of the leg may harden and darken. PTS symptoms may last for years. PTS may affect 50% of patients with DVT after 2 years.

The American College of Clinical Pharmacy recommends the use of compression stockings after the onset of a DVT. They recommend that patients wear the compression stockings for two years after initial onset of DVT. Below knee compression stockings with a compression level of 30-40 mmHg should be routinely prescribed to all patients in this group. With more patients with DVT is being treated on an outpatient basis by emergency department physicians, it is imperative that patients are prescribed knee high compression stockings upon discharge. Compression stockings are not contraindicated in combination of anticoagulant medication.

The positive clinical outcomes of wearing compression stockings are dependent on patient compliance. This is true for all medical indications of stocking use. A recent study on patient compliance by C.L. Morgan, et al concluded that patients with detailed instructions and education about compression therapy become more compliant with the prescribed treatment. It is important for the prescribing physician to educate the patient on where to find this detailed information or present it them personally. Many websites can adequately supply the patient with all the detailed information and education needed for upmost compliance.

Compression stockings are widely available today. They come in many colors and styles for everyday use. One of the best places to buy compression stockings is from the premium online retailers. There you can find a variety of styles of colors of stockings at a reduced price. Shipping is fast and affordable and the prices are usually less than the pharmacies or health care stores. At www.thelaserveincenter.com patients can also find useful information about compression stocking information such as how to measure their leg for stocking size, how to don stockings, how to care for stockings, and much more.

For more information on the various scientific studies that confirm that the use of compression stockings can reduce post thrombotic syndrome in patients who experience DVT visit www.thelaserveincenter.com or the American College of Phlebology at www.phelbology.org or consult a local phlebologist.

Summary:

Recent studies have confirmed that the use of compression stockings at the onset of DVT may prevent post thrombotic syndrome. Results are dependent on patient compliance. Patient education and training will increase patient compliance.

The time consumed going to the gym along with the after-workout strain it brings oftentimes gets in the way of getting healthy legs and back. It hampers the chance of lessening various back problems and greatly affects the efficiency of our good old legs. While some may just slack it off at home and do nothing about it, you can start the difference in you!

One must realize that the leading cause of back pains and problems as well as leg injuries are attributed to over use and under use. A sedentary lifestyle, improper posture, and even inexplicably weird sleeping positions may cause problems with the back. Overstretching and an inactive routine contribute to leg problems. Despite the hassles everyone thinks the exercise may involve, it is best that we use these essential parts of the body to its optimum level to avoid having troubles with it in the future because the advantages of an active lifestyle outweighs its disadvantages.

The importance of back exercises is undeniable. It does not only prevent back pains but also prevent injuries to one of the body’s most vital organ the spinal cord. While slowly lessening the back problems, optimal levels of functionality of the back are achieved. On top of that, you also get to exercise your core muscle group meaning the abdomen. That is practically targeting two areas in one exercise.

The leg muscles exercise’ ultimate advantage is it increases the amount of circulation going to the legs. The leg is some distance away from the ultimate source of blood-the heart. When you exercise these areas, you increase its need for oxygen because the normal oxygen that passes the area is used up to form energy. It prompts the heart to pump more blood to bring oxygen to the cells of the legs. By this time, many serious circulatory problems are prevented including the fatal deep vein thrombosis or DVT.

A lot more health benefits are characteristic to leg and back exercises. Apart from preventing these muscle aches and joint problems, the aesthetic factors are to be considered too. Of course, who would not want those shapely legs and killer back muscles? Who would want to flaunt a leg with lesser cellulite on the outside and perfectly circulated inside? Who would not want a back devoid of pains and problems? Who would not want a healthy body in general? Who would not want a vigorous and fit life?

Start exercising your legs including to your backs not only for others but also for yourself. You are on your to flaunting the best back and the shapeliest legs! Exercise now and flaunt in the future! Make the difference and shift a healthy life now!

Sales of prescription medicines worldwide rose 7% to $602 billion, according to IMS health, a pharmaceutical information and consulting company. The United States still accounts for the lion’s share of that, with $252 billion in annual sales, but sales in it and the other nine biggest markets grew by only 5.7%. But emerging markets such as China, Russia, South Korea and Mexico outpaced those markets, growing a whopping 81%.
Pfizer’s cholesterol pill Lipitor remains the best-selling drug in the world for the fifth year in a row.
If you are an all-night game player or an iPod maniac then this article is for you. Headphones are an essential piece of kit for many of us today as they allow us to privacy and sound quality. We look at three very different types of headphones offering reviews on their features and benefits.

The first up is an adaptable set from Sennheiser, the CX 400 Headphones. They are compatible with mobile phones and iPods offering good sound quality however they cost about 40GBP online with an RRP of 55GBP. So the question is, is it worth the upgrade? The answer depends on what you plan to use it for, the sound quality is good and enhanced by a selection of three moulder rubber ear fittings. If you plan to use it for hands free phone purposes it is suitable as the standard cable is short so that you do not have massive amounts of cable flapping around, however this proves an issue when using your iPod and you have to use the whopper 1m extension cable.

For those of you who take your gaming seriously and are willing to spend 150GBP on headphones then the next product is for you. The Sennheiser PC350 Headphones are fantastic for sound and voice quality, however when wearing them sometimes it does feel like you head is in a vice. If you are not too concerned about them wearing away your scalp then they have an adjustable microphone and are foldable for storage to boot. They have a 3m extension cable so you can walk around your command centre, or bedroom to avoid deep vein thrombosis however they are very expensive. They can be found online for about 85GBP if you look in the right places.

A cheaper alternative to the Sennheiser is the Plantronics Audio 770 Headphones. These are affordable and extremely comfortable to wear with massive speakers. The major down side is the quality of the audio when faced with the Sennheiser model, but they only cost 50GBP RRP and you can pick a pair up online for around 40GBP. If no one is ever going to see you wear them then they are ideal because they are like two millennium domes on your ears and kind of make you look like Princes Lea from Star Wars however if that does it for you, then the headphones are a cost effective alternative to the Sennheiser.

The headphones market like many others is dependent on your requirements and budget as generally you get what you pay for. It is important to remember that exposure to poor sound quality for long periods of time can potentially be damaging to your ear so sometimes upgrades are worthwhile.
