Are varicose veins around the heart a sign of something serious?
My husband is 31 and has been an athlete most of his life until the past few years. He is physically in good shape and active. But recently he has had some heart palpitations and noticed varicose veins or more like spider veins below his heart on his chest.

Hmm thats odd. I don’t think that it would be heart related but it would surely be worth having a medical professional look at.
gee if he’s having heart palpitations you should get him to the doctor maybe even the emergency room. Palpitations can be serious, they may be nothing but this is his heart you are talking about.
u c he being an athlete has caused an increse in the size of his heart muscles and also muscle on his chest(condition caled hypertrophy).blood is pumped with more pressure now and blood tends to collect in the superficial veins(veins on top).another problm cud be on slow blockage of coronary arteries with cholestrol(arteries supplyin heart muscles) so backflow into superficial veins is observed.but it seems vry unlikly he bein an athelete. i know dis stuf coz i’m a medical student.i advice to c a doctor coz if it becoms 2 severe docs wil hav 2 remove that vein.hurry!!!
Palpitations can occur anytime and most are benign types. Spider veins can appear anywhere on your body at any time without reason and this is not an indication of any heart problems. If he begins to have palpations which don’t go away with rest, he starts having chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating or nausea with them, he needs to be seen immediately. Otherwise, make mental notes what he was doing when they occurred, what makes them go away and visit with his doctor about them who can then decide if an EKG or other testing would be appropriate.
